A very Superb Owl

I never hear the word owl anymore without thinking of Owl City.  So that's a bummer.

Today, after spending the last of couple days at Bambi's, I came home to an awesome discovery.  In my sister's room I found a fantastic scarf.  She said that the scarf randomly appeared on our doorstep, and she didn't know where it came from. The scarf is for me, and I'm pleased as punch.  I love it.  And don't worry, it fits perfectly (slight sarcasm).  Maybe I will upload a picture of the scarf later.  A million thanks to the mystery girl who made it for me. I hope she reads my blog.

Sometimes when writing I have to remind myself that perfectionism is an enemy of creation.

I wanna have a vinyl party.  I'm chatting with Shea about that right now.  Is Radiohead on vinyl? I would think yes?

So I saw this music video (I think Stacie showed it to Shea, and he showed it me),

and it reminded me of Donnie Darko.  The top comment happens to be "donnie darko", so obviously I'm not the only one.  However, I later watched a different upload of the video, and the top comment said something like "I love the hoodies and bike rides and pine trees, reminiscent of ET".  I didn't think of ET at all when I saw this video.  "How come?" I asked myself.  Because I've never seen ET.  So then I started wondering if Donnie Darko (which takes place in, and pays lots of homage to, the 80s) has subtle references to ET that I'm missing.  So I googled "Donnie Darko ET".  The first result was this video.  The next result was a discussion of 80s pop culture references in Donnie Darko, and ET was listed.  I am slightly more curious about ET now, but I'm by no means interested in seeing the film.  For some reason I never have been.  Even though people call it the greatest science fiction film ever made.  When people compare that video to ET it just makes me wanna go ride my bike in the darko.  Ha, that was a legitimate freudian typo, right there.  Freudian finger slip, you might say.

The above paragraph is really big.  And kinda aimless.  If you skipped to this paragraph, I don't blame you. While the events described above somehow excite me, it may leave most readers saying "Cool story bro." Or, another favorite, "Is that seriously the whole story?".

I dunno how to conclude this post, but I think I'll leave you with a beautiful photo. It's from someone on Flickr named "msendan".
